Food | Las Iguanas A/W Menu Tasting

Las Iguanas
Las Iguanas

Food. Who doesn't love it? I'm normally a fussy and picky eater, the one that will take everything they hate out of the chilli con carne, or all the onions and mushrooms out of a curry, but when it comes to trying new foods and flavours, I'm there babe.

Myself, Saffron from PixieBowUK and Emily from Drained Beauty were all invited down to Las Iguanas Coventry to try out the new Autumn/Winter menu! And OMG how did I not realise sooner how much I loved Latin American food! I'm mainly in Las Iguanas for the 2 for 1 cocktails and their chilli con carne and cheese nachos! So I chose something different for a change...Let's see what myself and the girls went for...

For starters, I had the nachos, but tried them plain with cheese and salsa that was honestly so filling! Would of been better if I'd had it as a shared starter! Emily went for the chicken tacos, which I honestly think I'd go for next time as it looked so well presented and super tasty! Meanwhile, Saffron went for chicken wings which look super lush in all the sauce! I'm not a fan of chicken wings but they looked so nice!

The best thing about getting 3 starts was that they had an offer of 3 meals from the tapas section of the menu for £15.95! And the fact the portions are decent sizes as well!

Moving onto Mains, I opted for the Bahian Coconut Curry which was a Latin America version of a Chicken Korma in my eyes - trust me to always pick a curry! It was SO nice and tasty! It came in the cutest dish with a pot underneath with a tea light to keep it warm -  what a cute touch! The meal was complemented by rice and a side of kale. So it's super healthy in a way too! The dish itself came to £15.95, which is pretty pricey, but honestly worth it and one to try, as it was just lush and if your a fan of curry and want to try something different, then try this dish out. Emily went for Chilli Con Carne - which I will definitely be ordering next time I'm in Las Iguanas! Lastly Saffron has the new favourite on the menu which was Burger and Chips, classic fave of course! Read Saffron's review here and read Emily's opinion here.

Sadly, we didn't have the time, nor the room left in our stomach's to manage a pudding! But there was some amazing, mouth watering options available, which I will definitely be heading back there to try and also devour!

Las Iguanas

Lastly, as always Las Iguanas are famous for their 2 for 1 cocktails and mock tails. Unfortunately in my case, I was driving, so mock tails were my only option, if I wasn't driving, I would of drowned myself with porn-star martini's! Me with my Porn-star Martini obsession, I had the mock tail version of it of course! Which was the Passion Fruit Cooler - AMAZING! Just missing the vodka hahaa! Emily had the Apple Mojoless which I was able to try out and it was a lovely version of a Mojito. Saffron had the Virgin Pina Colada - coconut drinks definitely aren't my favourite, but Saffron said she enjoyed it! All the drinks were also presented nicely!

Overall, I'd definitely recommend a visit for a meal out, bite to eat or even for drinks in Las Iguanas Coventry or a Las Iguanas near you! Super cute decor and lovely vibes from the whole place, to top it off, the staff were lovely too! Get yourself down to your local Las Iguanas and try out their new delicious menu!

  1. I absolutely love Las Iguanas for their nachos, too! I’m glad that the mocktails were nice as I’m the one that’s usually the driver... although I do love a good old pornstar martini!

  2. Ha! I'm such a fussy eater and pick all the stuff I don't like out of food I've ordered. :P I'm terrible for taking the tomato and lettuce out of burgers. :P

Las Iguanas is so good though, even though I haven't been for years! Their mocktails are amazing too. ^_^
