Another year of Iain Lachlan & Craig Hollingsworth's brilliant pantomime productions, Jack & The Beanstalk. I was kindly invited by the Belgrade Theatre to review this years panto, and as always they never disappoint. A fun filled, humorous, well thought of and current performance. Read on to find out my thoughts.
If you are a local from Coventry, or have heard of Coventry through the famous Binley Mega Chippy that went viral on TikTok back in the summer of 2022, you will be familiar with the famous jingle. The pantomime was so current that they interpreted the famous song into their own version, interacting with the audience to get involved with singing along. Alongside many current jokes, including Matt Hancock going into the jungle. I have to hand it to the writers this year, as with every other year, they always bring such current and hilarious jokes throughout the entire performance.

There's always a few favourite parts to the panto I always look forward to, the part where they have someone come up from the audience to get pied with cream - SO funny every year, as well as the cast getting covered in it. As well as there always being some huge monster involved - this is always so incredibly made. The whole costumes and scene sets are always so brilliantly made and every last detail is always down to a T.
If you are from the midlands and are looking for an evening out, show to see with the kids or even a different thing to do this Christmas, I highly recommend you seeing the pantomime. No matter what the age, I guarantee everyone will love it & leave in stitches. You'll be taken through a whirlwind of emotions, be inspired by the scenes & be obsessed with the dames incredible & crazy outfits they pull out the bag EVERY year.
Overall, I couldn't recommend this years pantomime enough, this goes for every other year at the Belgrade. They never fail to put on a show to remember. Jack & The Beanstalk is showing from Wednesday 23rd November 2022 - Saturday 7th January 2023. Book your tickets here.
