Theatre | Heathers the Musical Review - Belgrade Theatre

Heathers the musical, one of the best musicals out there. Think high school musical, mean girls & a few dirty twists and you’ve got yourself a show you won’t forget. You'll want to rewatch it time & time again. Based off the smash hit film from 1988 that is Heathers the Musical, this show will have you singing along to all the classic favourites of “Candy Store”, “Dead Girl Walking” & “Seventeen”. It will have you thinking back to your teenage years & how different life is compared to that era in your life. 

If you’re new to The Heathers, strap in you’re about to have a wild ride of an experience into how popularity is a matter of life or death, literally. With a mix of love, high school dramas & toxic friendships, this show will have you in a mix of emotions throughout, but keeping you gripped to find out how it all turns out. 

The stage set up I have to say was so brilliantly thought out as always. The costumes were absolutely spot on with the classic American high school popular girls look, checked skirt & blazers with knee high socks as if they’ve jumped straight out of the film Clueless. It was giving the 90’s fashion for sure & we are so here for it. 

As for the cast, where on earth did they find Veronica Sawyer played by Gerardine Sacdalan as this girl was FANTASTIC! You could see her personality shining through her character & loved how natural she was at this role. Next to the spectacular Liberty Stottor who played Heather Chandler, the top Heather of the group in red. She brought the sass, the mean girl energy & the style to the stage. Finally, Martha 'Dumptruck' played by Sophie Manners, WOW her voice was absolutely beautiful, especially during her solo performance of “Kindergarten Boyfriend”. The whole cast were utterly astonishing & I couldn’t fault the entire show.
