I've been trying to save money now for the last few months, as I have big plans next year to go o holiday a fair few times. The possible options are; Austria, Amsterdam, Scotland, London and maybe Brighton. So I am trying to save as much money as possible because I want to travel as much as possible. 2016 has been one amazing year for travelling, I've had so many great opportunities to travel and it doesn't stop now! Carry on reading if you want to find out my tips on saving money.
Do you really need it or do you just want it?
Whether this be fast fashion pieces, unnecessary for or drink, night's out, shoes, random things. Ask yourself, do you really need it? Could you live without it before? Yes? Then you don't need it, you just want it. Add whatever it is to a wishlist and ask for it for Christmas or your birthday instead.
Use coupons and vouchers whenever you can
Whether they are for something you really need and use a lot, for reward points or money off things then definitely use them when you need to!
Instead of a night out, have a day out
There's plenty of places to go, or things to do that don't cost any money. Find things to do that don't cost you a penny in my advice post here. Days out could be to a country park, have a picnic, a craft day, visit a museum or a fun day out with friends out on bikes somewhere. Anything you can think of!
Find ways to make money
This could be selling things online or at a car boot! It's easy money at a car boot as I've done a couple now and earnt myself over £100, plus it gets rid of things you don't want and makes more room and money! Spend more time at work and also make yourself some more money to save up with.
Improvise with what you have
Whether this be cooking food with what you already have in the cupboard. Making new outfits with clothes you already have. Do some DIY's or even make a memory book - which are also a gift that costs nothing!
