Do you ever just feel demotivated by choosing what you have to wear each day? It's easier for people that wear a uniform to work and at the weekend feel more motivated to dress up when going somewhere, but when you work in the office, like myself, you tend to re-wear the same clothes and pieces in the same way. This is something I've been doing for a while and it's made me just feel basically meh about my personal style and what I wear on a daily basis. I think it's great to re-wear pieces, but I'm sick of wearing them the same way, so I've been trying to wear the same pieces but in different ways.
I've been sticking to my jeans with a jumper a lot when it comes to days out, so I wanted to switch it up, as it goes to show in these outfit shots, I restyled my black jeans with my typical trainers - most comfortable Nike Thea trainers I own and I'm dying to get a pair in nude for so long but they're just so expensive! I thought I'd go with a street style look adding in a buckled belt instead of my usual Gucci belt, a leopard print crop top from Primark that was a bargain at £4 I'm sure it was! It's such a change underneath a mess long sleeve top rather than a bra-let.
The amount of things jeans and trainers just go with though! I honestly own a fair few amount of jeans and I just tend to wear the same way, so I liked the different touch this outfit had with the mess and leopard print, and adding in a different belt to what I normally wear to achieve a more street style worthy outfit.
As for office style, I wear a lot of skirts and trousers with jumpers, so as the winter hopefully dies down and the spring months come, I'll add in my t-shirts again. But for now, my jumpers and trousers outfits will be update by some nice jewellery and accessories - of course a nice handbag. Coats are also a nice addition to any outfit during the winter, and my ever growing collection of coats will support this. I made a cheeky £40 purchase from River Island which was a lovely faux fur coat I spotted in the sale before Christmas at £60 then it went to £40 so I had to nab it for my wardrobe!

I hope you can take some inspiration away from this blog post, as I certainly will be getting more motivated with my style now the new year is in, and I was given a mannequin for Christmas to style all my outfits on to support this too!

ReplyDeleteEurgh I totally get what you mean, especially when finding things to wear for work! My workplace is super casual (unless we have client meetings) so most of the time I just throw on jeans and a hoodie. It's really bad, so I hope to jazz my outfits up a bit more as I find jeans really uncomfortable for me now.

Yes it’s finding the motivation! But Pinterest does wonders!
DeleteOh I know exactly what you mean with this post! I started to get a bit bored and well, "not arsed" about what I was wearing for work. They're the standard office wear type place, but they're okay with some uniqueness in there. But I knew at the start of 2019 I wanted to up my game and get myself some nice new pieces! I love two black dresses I've bought and I plan to get some more stuff as and when.
ReplyDeleteI'll also try and up my game outside of work too. I've been so lazy lately and just thrown on a pair of joggers and a hoodie, or a pair of leggings and a sweater. xD

Yes I’ve been making more of an effort to wear my heels again as I used to wear them all the time but opted for flat boots instead. Back to the heels it is! Makes me feel so much better when I’m in heels!
DeleteI think we all lose our way with style. I am stuggling keeping warm so diving anything on that is snuggly. Spring will bring inspiration, fingers crossed
ReplyDeleteYes snuggly clothes are lovely though in the winter!
DeleteI've upped my game with looking more professional at work so I can go for a promotion so I know what you mean! Love your outfit in this one x
ReplyDeleteYes definitely! Makes you feel better too!
DeleteI'm so glad I have a uniform for my job, then I just have to worry about the bottom half of clothes during the week! But I definitely feel stuck in a rut with my out of work clothes.
ReplyDeleteGreat Post
