Advice | Dealing With Writer's Block

I honestly hate it when I sit in front of my laptop with so many things that need to be done but then I'm there with a blog post waiting to be written with all the images ready and then my brain is like NOPE. NOT TODAY GAL. Like really? I need this sh*t DONE! Lately it's been so busy, with gym, work and just general life, so it's not been as productive as I'd of hoped it would be. So let's see how I manage to fight through this one...

A lot of the time I'll look for inspiration when I have no clue what to write about by reading blog posts, mainly on Bloglovin' as it's my favourite app and platform to read all my favourite and new blogs that I've followed, latest blog posts. Or I head to Instagram or Twitter to find me some inspiration. Lately, Pinterest I've been getting loads of inspiration from! I've been pinning away from London Fashion Week, to garden ideas to cute dogs! It's honestly been my addiction for like a week solid...It's also a good booster for those who want to divert more traffic from their blog from Pinterest. One day in the morning I had 9.4K monthly unique views, then literally 6 hours later it went up to 17K!! Erm...excuse me...WHAT?! Shows my addition isn't that bad after all if that's what comes out of it!

Most of the time I'll sit in front of my laptop ready to write a blog post and I'll honestly just do it and the blog post will flow so nicely and I won't even have to write it out before hand. I used to write in notepads before hand as it's more motivating and I was better at being more creative when writing it all down on paper, so that's another way of beating the writers block, especially when your feeling productive and have all these creative juices flowing!

Pink Jumper Dress* - Femme Luxe | Coat - Primark | Scarf - H&M | Boots - Public Desire | Bag - Claudiu Canova via ASOS | Belt - Gucci

So as much as I thought I had writers block whilst writing out this blog post, it seems to have made it a bit better. I always feel that the environment you are trying to work in plays a big part in writers block too. As I always work better from my desk. My bed used to be my desk, especially on Saturday mornings when I had nothing planned and sat for hours working on my laptop editing blog posts, editing photos and editing YouTube videos. I miss those days, but life just gets on top of you and it just gets a bit hectic and you don't always have time to have a day filled with nothing planned. But hey ho! That's life and I'm enjoying it either way! What do you think of this outfit by the way? This lovely pink jumper dress was gifted to me and I've style it with my cute Perspex style boots and favourite Primark longline coat that I always live in during the winter.

  1. Great post! Love your idea about your environment, if I am having a block I will move my laptop from my desk to the sofa or my bed and get comfy, sometimes a change of space can help me focus!
    Loveee the outfits girl! xoxo

  2. I hate getting writers block but I always get it worse when I don't have specific topics to write about. I'm okay if I've been travelling and have enough content to create and keep my going but once I've run out of topics to write about, that's when I struggle.
I love the coat, it's so cute!

I suffer from writers block every now and again and my favourite way to be inspired is to read other blogs too.

  5. I’ve been facing this so much lately, I’ll write a post and then read it back and just think it sounds rubbish. Or I’ll sit down write two lines and then go completely blank. I really do want to push myself to write lots of blog posts this year. Loving your outfit in these shots too babe x

  7. I love writing in coffee shops, or trying a differant topic first or even a bit of art to get the juices flowing. But it’s so frustrating when nothing can come!

    1. See I've never tried writing in coffee shops to be honest! I love a nice quiet environment like my desk at home to get things done! Think I may try that out now though!
