Lifestyle | Late Night Bargain Shopping - The Best Times & Places To Find Them

Isobel Celine

Never did I think I would be creating this post, but I'm sure this will be beneficial to all who are trying to save money. I've always loved a good bargain, whether that be clothes, food or anything in general. This blog post is all about all the food shopping bargains I find in any food shop I go to. So here is a guide to where the best bargains are kept, where to go and what's the best time to go.

The main food shops myself and Adam tend to search for bargains are:

  • Tesco
  • Morrisons
  • Asda
  • Sainsbury's
  • M&S

See below the main sections to search for delicious bargains:
  • Fridges - one section with loads of reduced yellow labels on products - there always tends to be a lot of reduced vegan food so this is a good time to try out vegan alternatives in the reduced section. Reduced products are usually always in the same place everyday.
  • Bakery - Perfect to grab yourself batches, loafs of bread, pastries or even donuts. Don't forget you can freeze these!
  • Fruit & Veg section - there's usually one small section for this where you can get fruit and veg just about going out of date, but of course fruit and veg are fine until they become mouldy, so all is good! Just always check inside the packet before you buy it to see if all is good.
  • Broken goods - this usually is full of crap, broken or opened products, but sometimes it's worth the mooch, as you never know what you might find.
  • Sandwich & lunch section - you might just find tomorrow's lunch here!
The best times to look for bargains in each shops are:

  • Tesco - between 19:30-21:00
  • Asda - 19:30
  • Morrisons - 19:30
  • Sainsbury's - 19:30
  • M&S - 19:00-20:00
As you can see it's mainly the 19:30 mark that you want to be there for or near or around that time to grab yourself some bargains. You'll notice a lot of people can be greedy during this time when the employees are marking everything up just before they put it on the shelves. Me and Adam just go away and come back as we would rather just see whats left after the rummage of other people, as the last thing the employees need is more people waiting to grab anything they can get. How can you blame people when the food is reduced to pennies!

Home bargains as well as B&M are of course the perfect shops to grab a bargain in as well. Of course, always look for offers on the shelves in shops as well as the reduced sections as there is usually some form of offer on in shops as we all know they do often. It's just being in the shops at the right time a bargain comes along.

Very random post from me, but this is something I tend to do quite often to grab some bargains and try out new food that doesn't cost the earth. Hope this is handy for you also!
