Now that Halloween is over and we are well and truly on our way to Christmas - the countdown begins! We need some good out of this year as 2020 as been pants for us all right? The best thing this year has been watching lots of films and series, but now Christmas is on the horizon and Showcase Cinema's are open - of course keeping within the government guidelines of social distancing and mask wearing they have been a god send being open and giving us a chance to get out the house and enjoy time away from home for a while. Keep reading to see what they currently are showing & what other things happened during my visit to the Showcase.

Showcase Cinema

The Showcase Cinema kindly invited me down on a Sunday afternoon to see Home Alone on the big screen - what an absolute classic to be able to see at the cinema! It's so nice that the Showcase are showing some pretty cool old and new films right now. I know we can always get these types of films on TV, Netflix & DVD, but you can't get the luxury of a huge cinema screen & the most comfortable reclining chairs like at the Showcase Cinema at home can you? My favourite thing about their cinemas is definitely the reclining seats, they are the best improvement to the cinema and makes me love going there even more - plus more leg room now since their refurbishment!

Showcase Cinema

I went along to the Showcase with Adam this time, as if you read my last blog post with the Showcase a few months back when they first reopened here you will know I took my Mum last time to see Emma on the big screen. Me and Adam were pretty happy to be seeing a Christmas film as he kept saying about us watching one on Netflix, so this was the perfect opportunity to see one - especially at the cinema. The Showcase even kindly gave us some complimentary bags of sweets and chocolates which was so kind and lovely of them! I of course devoured them, Adam was being healthy and brought fruit with him meanwhile I had loads of snacks like sweets, chocolates and crisps - typical me for film snacks. I of course took the rest home and shared the starbursts with my Mum and Step Dad who finished the packet off. And yes, I did bring a Olaf blanket with me as I always find it to be a little chilly in the cinema from the air con so a blanket was needed for extra cosiness.

Anyway, back to the film. It was so good to see Home Alone on the big screen and I'm excited to see what other classics they bring back to the big screen around Christmas time. The current showings aren't so Christmassy just yet, but the following are currently showing at the Showcase Cinema:

  • Tenet
  • Honest Thief
  • Two By Two Overboard
  • A Christmas Gift From Bob
  • Cats & Dogs Paws Unite!
  • Saint Maud
  • Big - absolute classic this one!
  • Coco
  • After We Collided
  • Blue Story - out 22nd November
  • All My Life
And many more of course yet to come.

It was so nice to go to the cinema again after so long. I certainly would like to visit more often during the colder months especially. Thank you to the Showcase Cinema for inviting me down, it was lovely as always!
