World Sandwich Day, who would of thought there was a day dedicated to it! Now I love my food, especially when it comes to a takeaway. A few days ago it was also World Vegan Day, absolutely adore that idea to celebrate all things Vegan. So FoodHub kindly let me order food from one of the local takeaways in my area off their app, now if you've not heard of Foodhub before, let me tell you all about it.

Foodhub unlike rivals, Just Eat & Uber Eats don't take commission from your local takeaway which is on average around 15%, which means it's a better deal for the takeaway and for us the consumers, as Foodhub is on average 15% cheaper than the rest!

Food hub have recently conducted a survey and found that a quarter of Brits have named the Burger as their favourite sandwich, followed closely behind the classic ham and cheese.

To celebrate World Sandwich. Day, Foodhub is offering 10% off at designated restaurants that sell burgers, hotdogs, delis, sandwiches and wraps. To claim your 10% discount, head to the Foodhub app and use the code: SANDWICH2020 (expires Thursday 5th November - £4 maximum redemption).

As for the takeaway itself, we ordered from The Railway in Coventry as I've had food from their before and their curries were quite nice. So we ordered a vegetable pathia, boiled rice, cheese naan, cheesy chips and Adam ordered a chicken pathia. I also ordered of course a veggie burger and chips as you can see. Now unfortunately our takeaway took an hour and a half for it to arrive which wasn't the best, and the majority of the food was cold. They also forgot to pack our cheesy chips in which was sad, but they were brilliant at getting them out to us again and refunding the money for the chips so that was good of them.

The curry itself and the naan bread was lovely, but when I tried the burger, it was soggy and very unappetising which I was really disappointed about. When we were searching for a restaurant/takeaway to get our takeaway from, I was quite disappointed at the amount of veggie/vegan options on menus, sometimes there weren't even one. Now of course this all depends on the restaurants, and the area you are in when you use the app. Now say if you were in London for example, the options would be a lot more of course. We unfortunately don't have too many restaurants/takeaway places in Coventry that do many veggie options. But if your not veggie then this is fine for you of course!

So what is your favourite sandwich? Mine has to be a quorn fajita wrap with iceberg lettuce and bbq sauce, or a veggie/vegan burger. Hope your staying safe during these times, takeaways couldn't be more relevant now that the second lockdown has been announced here in the UK, so if your not up to cooking and fancy a treat, try out the Foodhub app now buy downloading it in the App Store and of course don't forget to use the code: SANDWICH2020 for discount.
