Firstly, DAM how gorgeous is Tenerife?! Have you ever been? If you haven’t then you need to. I found a fair few lovely vegan places and restaurants that cater for vegans during our week there. As well as some tips on how to find the places easier yourself.
Flo’s Kitchen
The food was incredible, I had a veggie chilli with rice from the flos special board - one tip is if you ask for the chilli make sure you say the veggie rice as there’s a wrap that’s called the veggie crunch which they get mixed up with. But if you do order the chilli, make sure to ask without the cheese as it’s not vegan. Adam had the protein burrito which wasn’t vegan, but a lot of the items on the menu are vegan you just have to look at what’s in it. They have such a massive variety of good brunch and lunch options as well as dinner to be honest. From açai bowls, wraps & burgers to chillis & salad bowls. All the healthy foods you could wish for.
Ilili
Wow, what a place for vegan food. Not only do they do delicious vegan food, they actually understand what vegans are.
There were so many delicious foods in this Lebanese restaurant, it was hard to choose! I went for the Spinach fatayer, batata hara & Lebanese rice. I can’t say I liked the rice as it had these sweet kind of noodles in them, but Adam seemed to like the rice.
As for the spinach fatayer, this was such a lovely little dish, would be a lovely little sharer or starter. I had a few little dishes to go together as there wasn’t any mains I liked the look of (fussiest eater award goes to me).
The batata hara, ugh if you try anything on the menu PLEASE make it be this. I could of eaten a giant bowl of these as they were beautiful. Basically spicy potatoes which were absolutely STUNNING.
Definitely highly recommend you visiting if you are in the playas de las Americas area to try this spot. Lovely staff and incredible food.
Vilafor
Tierra
Tierra also has lovely smoothies, vegan baked & sweet treats, alongside a menu filled with healthy options such as, vegan burgers, salad bowls & Buddha bowls.
They also do a little sustainable vegan and vegetarian shop next door to the restaurant as well. Unfortunately it wasn’t open when we went, but definitely take a look if you stop by there. Definitely worth trying out, as these vegan and vegetarian places to eat are a rarity.
Bombay Blue
Soul Kitchen
We tried the smoothie bowls from Soul Kitchen which were honestly SO good. I had the banana and mango smoothie bowl, whilst Adam had the peanut butter and banana smoothie bowl. The granola in the bowl I had was so delicious, it was like a cinnamon mix and I need to make my own version of this at home for sure. They also had lots of lunch choices from sandwiches & salads etc. Just double check what’s vegan and what isn’t as it’s hard to tell from the online menu.
Would definitely recommend there as it’s also a really cute Instagramable spot with the flower wall and cute interior.
Hacienda Miranda
Also the beans filling in the tacos I found them rather bland, needed a bit of spice for my taste buds to be honest. But either way they were something new to try and it was nice. Located in the same area as Bombay Blue in playas de las Americas up the stairs from the fountain.
Roma
Was a nice place to eat, but can’t say the guy on the door was very good as he tried to move us once we sat down due to a table being reserved when we were told it was fine to sit there. Other than that it was nice.
The Four Seasons
It took ages for someone to come and take our order, the food did come quickly though but our drinks order was messed up so we got our food before our drinks. We were over charged for the food, Adam ordered chicken balls as a side and we were charged as main and they refused to change this, we paid anyway but the fact I had to ask 3 different people to pay the bill was awful after having to argue with the staff about the over charging. So I wouldn’t recommend, but I can’t complain about the food as it was nice.
As for the food, I ordered a vegetable soy Chinese curry with jasmine rice & chips. It was a lovely dish and there was loads of it so I took the rest back to our apartment to eat the next day. They did have really great vegan options there also. There is another place very similar to the four seasons right next to it called Delih delights I’m sure which would probably be better trying out, I’m just not sure if there is many vegan options. Again this place is based in the same as the others, but you would through to the back of the fountain to a walkway to all the other restaurants.
That’s all the places worth mentioning in this guide for you for vegan places. But I do have to say that most places we’ve been to, the staff in restaurants have been either rude, not attentive or just shocking in general. Some places were lovely but a lot of the time service and staff have been rather rude. So watch out for this where you do go is all I will say!
