It’s took me years of working on my mindset to get to the happy mindset I am today. Here's my top 5 tips on how to better your mindset to live a more happy and positive life.
Remove toxicity and negativity in your life
By this I mean unfollow and remove people in your life that don’t uplift you in some way, give you inspiration, are negative towards you and just don’t give you a positive vibe of energy. I’ve removed a lot of things as well as people in my life that in some way were toxic or negative towards me and that’s not something I wanted in my life. You can’t lead a happy and positive life whilst having these kinds of negative energy around you.
Read self help books
Reading these types of books were a real turning point for me. I’ve read many of them in the last year or so that have honestly changed my life. I started with reading the Sarah Knight books which are actually ruthless in such a good way. With books about how to calm your anxiety, how to not care what people think and how to get yourself together. These are a good place to start. I then went onto manifesting style books to bring me that positive mindset to create the life I’ve always wanted. I started with The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, honestly this is a brilliant read and worth purchasing if you’re serious about changing your mindset completely. Also a recent one that has honestly changed my perspective on everyday life and how we see life is, Evergreen by Lydia Millen. This is particularly a beautiful one to give you the sense to look differently in life and appreciate every little thing, especially within nature.
Vex Kings books were yet another few books I picked up and read so quickly they were so insightful in so many different ways. Whether you want a Good Life Good Vibes, or a way of healing, Vex Kings books are also worth reading for different reasons. I’ve also read the Failosophy book which is definitely good for those who suffer with worrying about failure and anxiety. You’ve Got This, Seven Steps To A Life You Love by Dr Michaela Dunbar is a lovely self help book too.
As you can tell, I’ve read many self help books and I’m sure I’ve read more than that, but these are something I can say that really helped me to change my mindset. Alongside listening to self help style podcasts, feeding your brain with ways of coping with certain scenarios and situations you've been through in life.
Declutter & organise your space
Your mindset won’t change if you have a messy or unorganised space. If your home or area is a mess, so is your headspace. Get savvy and look on Pinterest or TikTok for organising ideas of how to transform your space. I find YouTube videos are very therapeutic to watch for these ideas. You can gain so much inspiration from this too and create the space you’ve always wanted.
Create a vision board
You can get creative with this and make it on Canva. Download or screenshot images from socials or Pinterest and create a board of things you want to achieve, purchase, experience etc and make it what you’ve always dreamt of. Save this to your laptop or mobile screensaver (or both like I do). Or even print it out of make one to put up in your room or home so you can see it every day and work towards what you want from your life.
Think positive in every situation
Now I know this is the hardest part, but this is the last step to enjoying life. Life is what you make of it and if a bad situation enters your life, it’s how you deal with it that matters most. I used to freak out and get super anxious over certain things, but now, not much fazes me now a days because I’ve built on my mindset to not freak out and deal with situations in a calmer and more positive way. There’s a solution to every problem. Remember that. Don’t let your brain go into overdrive and think the worst. You can always figure it out if you put your positive mind to it.
I hope these tips help as these are the top 5 that have helped me the most with getting to where I am today with my positive mindset. Trust me it’s not been easy to get to this point, but whatever life throws at you, it only makes you stronger.
