Travel | 5 Places To Visit In The Cotswolds

Aynhoe Park

Anyhoe Park

The place where all the influencers go to get their aesthetic outfit photos. Also know for it being the home of Restoration Hardware with room after room filled with beautifully made, & expensive may I add, pieces for the home. There’s also a couple of gorgeous spots to eat & drink at, I’d certainly love to go back just to try out the food there. When you visit, make sure to go out to the back lawn & gaze at the incredible rolling hills view of the English countryside.

Cotswolds Wildlife Park

Cotswolds Wildlife Park

Now this is perfect for everyone, especially on a dry or sunny day. A wide variety of animals to see, perfect place to have your family picnic & just explore the whole park. I visited with my friend back in 2023 & we had a lovely time, but the only downfall was the crazy queue to get into the wildlife park, we got there for when it opened & we waited a good hour on the road just to get into the park. So what I will say is, either go early, or go later on in the day past the opening time to avoid the traffic.

Daylesford Organic Farm Shop
Daylesford Cottages

Daylesford Organic Farm & Cottages

Possibly my favourite farm shop ever, even if I’ve never bought anything in there. Daylesford is the prettiest farm shop I’ve ever visited. Why go there? Because you could literally spend the entire day there. Exploring the farm shop, which leads to the Trough restaurant where you can have lunch, or grab a coffee & a sweet treat from the Farmshop itself. The farmshop leads into the home section and of course onto the garden centre, my favourite part! They also extend the garden centre in the warmer months as there’s so many more plants they have available. They also have a super cute pets section in the home store. There’s also an exquisite florists in the home store which always smells divine, I can never not take a snap of the beautiful flowers they have available in the florists area.

A wine area is also available where you can go & purchase lots of different wines alongside the famous Léobe available. There’s a few outdoor seating areas & a store for the Bamford clothing brand & also a Bamford skincare shop if you head to the back of Daylesford where the wellness centre is. As an added bonus, Bamford Club have a gym & spa available that you can become a member of too - the price is quite costly though I may add, last time I checked it was £250 a month, but don’t quote me on that one as things change. I’ve experienced the pool, gym & Pilates area & I honestly couldn’t fault it. All I can say is I wish it was closer to home as I would absolutely go there daily if I was nearby & make it my daily gym. It’s such a wonderful location & exceptional service.

Chastleton House

Chastleton House

If you go to visit Chastleton house, make sure to visit in the summer on a lovely sunny day. I visited in May when the weather was gloriously sunny & the gardens were in full bloom. There’s so much to learn and look around at in the house, the volunteers are wonderful & incredibly knowledgable about the whole history of the house & its previous owners. The gardens are beautifully kept, perfect when in bloom to get those Instagram worthy snaps or just a beautiful memorable photo. It’s also a national trust place so those that have a membership this is of course a bonus to you. They even had tea & coffee in the church next door when I visited. When you park in the car park, just a heads up that it’s a slight walk through a free roaming sheep field down a little hill to the house. It’s a wonderful view during this though which is an added bonus.

Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace

Britain’s greatest palace, & so it should be with the grand size of it, incredibly beautiful gardens & of course the extremely popular Netflix series Bridgerton was filmed there. When you visit, make sure to prebook your tickets as you can’t buy them on the door, but your ticket will be an annual pass so you can use this again and again for the next year. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth getting the palace pass included, I’d say it’s definitely worth it. The inside of the palace is breathtakingly beautiful, with so much beautiful art work, interior & incredible history to learn about during your walk around. There’s also the famous library that was featured in scenes of Bridgerton that you have to visit, it’s beautiful with a grand piano located in there.

There’s also a section of the palace dedicated to Sir Winston Churchill with all his history that you can read & learn about as you walk around.

Blenheim Palace also hosts a wide variety of events over the year, so be sure to check out the events board on their website or whilst visiting. With the likes of Salon Privé, Blenheim Palace Horse Trials and even the Game Fair which they also hosted this year.

Be sure to take a picnic & blanket with you as this is a gorgeous location for a picnic on a sunny day. There are places to eat in at Blenheim as well as a shop you can have a mooch around in & purchase the likes of Penhaligons fragrances to afternoon tea servers.
