Travel | Best Places To Visit In Iceland Part Two

Reykjavik Iceland

Day Two of my Icelandic adventure. This was the day we spent the day walking around Reykjavik exploring the sites and beautiful views around us - especially the beautiful mountains above.

Reykjavik Iceland

We head off along the coast line towards the centre of Reykjavik and stopped by the Sun Voyager which I've always wanted to photograph. As I went to get a picture by the Viking ship skeleton, I almost fell straight into the metal frame because of the (majorly) slippery surface it was built on.

Harpa is this massive unusual looking building that we wondered into and found an amazingly unique design that reminded me of the Library in Birmingham for some reason.

There is so much graffiti displayed all around Reykjavik. It truly was an amazing site to see, as I love art and graffiti is a pretty awesome part of art. This particular piece amazed me because of the size of it. I really want to know how this was made.

The Hallsgrimskirkja was definitely an amazing site to see and something I recommend you go to if you ever visit Iceland. The view from the top is incredible! You'll see the view from all different parts of the church below.

Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon was another amazing highlight of the adventure holiday. Which beautiful landscapes all around you while swimming/relaxing in the hot spring water. It really is something you need to add to your bucket list of doing. It's only a 40 minute drive from Reykjavik as well. Luckily I got us there using good old Google Maps!

Obviously there was selfies happening everywhere with the Blue Lagoon and people with their phones and cameras. I took these pictures with my phone as I didn't want to drop my DSLR camera in there. Luckily I didn't drop my phone in there!

Blue Lagoon

This smoothie was one of the best things I've tasted! I even bought a banana flavoured one once I got out. I took a picture of the ingredients on the back of the cup so I could make my own at home.

Blue Lagoon

I really couldn't believe how beautiful this place was, with mountains all around you and the sun setting behind the lagoon. It was a perfect moment.

Lastly, we went out into the darkness to see if we could capture the northern lights. Unfortunately we didn't but Norway will be the next destination to see if we can see them. I do have to say though, Iceland reminded me of a much colder and more mountainous version of Canada! That is literally all I could think about while I was there, and the mountains that were covered in blankets of snow looked like a massive cappuccino, don't you think? With the chocolate coloured mountains peaking through the snow making them looked like sprinkled chocolate.

Thank you so much for reading! Have you ever been to Iceland? Would you ever go? Where would you visit or have you visited in Iceland?
