We all get stressed every now and then, let's admit it, I know I do a hell of a lot! Whether it be from work or at home or even over the most stupid little things. I get the most stressed when things don't go to plan or when I've got 1 million and ten things to do. Are you getting super stressed out too lately? Well follow these ways on how to de-stress and I hope they help!
1. Go for a walk
I really think it does help doing this, especially when I'm having a stressful day at work, I usually get out of the building away from the noise, paperwork and stress and wander off for a walk around the local nature reserve. Trust me, I feel completely refreshed once I've done this! Even when I had a long day of staring in front of a screen doing nothing but editing or blogging, I love to walk my dog and escape from a screen for a while and get some fresh air.
2. Listen to your favourite music
This is one of my own personal ways to escape from the world and just focus on the moment and give deep thought on things and just chill out. I particularly love to listen to Ed Sheeran, Walking On Cars or Lindsey Stirling. As much as I like my music loud and blasting out of my headphones, I do sometimes prefer slightly quieter and more calming music to suit my mood that I want to be in.
3. Have a snack
Sometimes I eat crappy food when I'm stressed, when I really shouldn't as it just makes me feel worse. Try eating a banana or even raisins as they are a great boost of energy and not only are they much better for you then snacking on crisps or chocolate!
4. Take a break from you screens
Whether this be a phone, laptop, tablet, computer, anything with a screen, put it down and give yourself a break for at least 15 minutes. You could even fit in a work out to get the blood pumping around your body and will give your eyes a break too. As much as we need to get things done, stressing about them won't really help will it? Taking a steady pace and looking after yourself will definitely help your stress levels.
5. Buy yourself a plant
This is something I did a few months ago, and obviously it was a cactus, but whether your a plant or a flower type of person, that's your decision. Even a bouquet of flowers helps you brighten up your stressful mood and gives you some vibrant colours to keep you feeling happier believe it or not!
6. Light a candle
Having a candle lit whilst I'm working at my desk, definitely calms my stress levels as well as making the room smell divine and completely calms my mood down and helps me to concentrate rather than panic. Even a diffuser, you know, those smelly things you can get that you plug into the wall or has sticks sticking out that makes the room smell really good? Buy yourself one from the pound shop or even Primark does some cheap but lovely smelling ones. It's not like it'll break the bank will it?!
7. Take a hot relaxing bath
Pampering myself when having a nice hot bath is definitely something I need to make a weekly thing due to me being stressed out so often over things. I've recently spent a fair bit of money in Lush as I wanted so many new products whilst visiting the Oxford Street store when I was in London a few weeks ago. Massage bars are a must as well as their famous bath bombs and melts! The smell and the colours are so amazing to watch and to let soak into your skin.
8. Try out De-stressing apps
This is something I need to get myself back into as I used to use a free app called Headspace which was brilliant for my anxiety and stress. It helped me to regain my focus and sleep better at night. If you've tried it yourself, let me know what you think!

Not just you, but me too. Sometimes stress is so unexpected, yet it lives in our daily live. I love going for a walk to de-stress myself :)
