Well hello! It's been a while since I've written a blog post, and what better way to bring it all back than a post all about one of my favourite food brands, Skinny Food Co. If you don't know, this lovely small business sells vegetarian and vegan friendly foods, sauces, syrups, jams, snacks and of course, pancake mixes. I was kindly sent out a fabulous box of goodies for pancake day in February - watch the vlog here of me testing all the goodness out. Just a little disclaimer before we get into this post, I was gifted all of these products but I was not obliged to write a blog post about them, I just love the brand a hell of a lot. So let's tuck in!
I'd never tried the Skinny Food Co Pancake Mix before, and since I tried it, it's actually a game changer. They make the perfect texture and colour pancakes like what you buy at the shops. These pancakes would be good for those that want to eat less sugar as they have very low sugar in the mixture, also per pancake is only 27 calories! I'm not one for calorie counting but if you are then that means you can have loads of them and not feel so guilty. The fact these were also SO easy to make was even better, and less mess than getting all the flour, eggs and milk out.
Simply add a heaped table spoon to a measuring jug or shaker, add 40ml milk or water and mix it all up until smooth. Add the mixture to a hot frying pan (of course add some fry light or oil so it doesn't stick), one heaped spoon gives you one pancake with the 40ml of milk or water. Wait until the pancake has started to bubble before you attempt to flip it, it should look golden - perfect pancake colour. Once its cooked and done, there you go!
The taste of the pancakes were fabulous, especially with the amazing range of sauces & syrups they have to offer. My mum's cupboards are filled with all these sauces from Skinny Food Co, as I've kind of taken over a fair bit with the amount of them that I have...woops! Shows how much I love them though.
Skinny Food Co have a massive range of syrups, sauces, spreads, snacks and so many other things. I will always highly recommend this brand as they are vegan & vegetarian friendly, have zero palm oil in their products, diabetic friendly, sugar free, low to zero in calories and gluten free in most products. They are honestly one of my most favourite brands and you should definitely check them out. Whether you want to have less sugar in your diet, want to try new things or have some lovely tasting syrups or sauces added to your everyday meal plan. They have the best variety of stuff online, and in a few shops like B&M, Home Bargains and other supermarkets. They have also got a full Easter range ready online as well!
