Interior
As for interior the best way for me to describe the place is simplistic with a splash of Turkish design. They had lovely Turkish covers on the seats of the booths, lanterns around & a lovely stylish look about the place.
Drinks
The drinks menu was very varied with lots of wines, spirits, beers and of course cocktails. As I was driving I asked for a mocktail of the strawberry daiquiri which was so lovely! Sophie went with the same which was a great choice.
Food
I have to say the food was lovely! I can’t say there was many vegan options, but I ordered the hummus with bread for starters which came with a garlic dip (not vegan which Sophie had), a chilli dip and the most delicious flat bread that I ate the majority of between myself and Sophie. The chilli dip was my absolute fave that’s for sure. As well as the hummus, I took a fair bit home to have with my salad the next day.
For mains I ordered the falafel which came on a bed of hummus with salad and rice. Now I don’t normally like falafel, but WOW was this some good falafel. With a crispy outside coating and soft fluffy texture on the inside. I didn’t manage to eat it all as I was stuffed from our lovely starter, so I took the falafel & hummus home to have the next day for lunch - we don’t want wasted food now! Sumac grill also do takeaway as well which is fab.
As for dessert, there were no vegan options for me but they were so lovely and made me a lovely little cup of tea. I didn’t mind as I was SO stuffed from the starter and main I had no room for dessert anyway. But either way I have added a photo of the main menu and dessert menu so you can have a look yourself if there is anything you would have whether you are vegan or not.
Service
The service had to be what made our evening. Our lovely waiter Tria was so lovely and attentive. He really looked after us and was happy to answer any of our questions. The staff there are absolutely top notch, so I would definitely recommend going to Sumac Grill. Also Mondays and Tuesdays they have a meal offer on where you can have a starter, main and a tea or coffee for £14.95. Not a bad way to start the week.
