As for the size of the room, I’ve never stayed in such a beautiful size room before, so this really was a treat to have the pleasure of staying in. There was a mini bar with some lovely soft drinks inside. We were greeted with fresh apples, a lovely note & sweet drops. Alongside the usual tea, coffee & biscuits which my partner loved using the Nespresso coffee machine, as we are looking to change over from our Tassimo one.
As for the bathroom facilities, the interior is a classic burgundy/rouge red and cream tiled look, that compliments the whole classical aesthetic to the Master room. The toilet is located in a separate room to the main bathroom, giving you extra privacy when sharing a room such as this. The main bathroom is complimented with robes & Temple Spa toiletries. Products that are also used within the onsite spa to Mallory Court, which we will get to later on.
I do only have one fault with the bathroom, the shower head in the shower room seemed to need a replacement, as the water came out more like a gush than a waterfall. Regardless, the bath tap function was very antique and classical looking.
The view from the Manor House Master was absolutely beautiful, where you can see the sun rise over the gardens where the organically grown vegetables are. Overall a lovely room to stay in and I’d happily stay in again.
Moving onto dinner, we were treated to a 5 course Taste Of The Seasons dinner. Starting in the lounge area for for pre-dinner drinks. I ordered a lovely fruity mocktail that the wonderful Mallory Court staff made, whilst my partner had a bottle of Jeremy Clarksons hawkstone cider. Complimented with a couple of bar snacks being crispy broad beans & a selection of olives - the first time I’ve tried an olive would you believe. Can’t say I love or dislike them to be honest, an acquired taste though I must say.
We were taken to our table with a bottle of vegan red wine, a lovely gentleman brought the bottle over before dinner to see if it would be a good choice for us. I also have to say how brilliantly knowledgeable Michael, one of our lovely waiters for the evening was with his knowledge on different wines. If you ever are to stay at Mallory Court, I highly recommend, that if you are a wine drinker, ask for Michael & he will be the man to know what wine compliments what dish.
As for our first course, we were brought over a selection of snacks before the 5 course began. I was handed a celeriac taco, panisse, tamarind, a carrot dip & crisps to share. Meanwhile, Adam had smoked cod roe & potato, panisse tamarind & gougere with truffle custard. We particularly liked the panisse tamarind, out of them all. The carrot dip was also a delight.
To share, we had a basket of muffin shaped bread with vegan butter. Which actually gave me some inspiration to make my own mini bread at home, as these are delicious. Any type of carb I absolutely adore.
For our next dish, I had Mallory gardens beets, puffed grains & preserved blackberries. I can’t say I’m one for beetroot, but I did try the dips around the plate with the bread, I can confirm preserved blackberries are lovely. Adam had a taste of cured Loch Duart salmon with heritage radish, bergamot & pear. Which Adam had never tried salmon before. Unfortunately out of all the dishes, this was our least favourite, but it’s all about trying new food, which we were very grateful about.
Now to start with, another dish of certain foods I’ve not tried before, a braised chicory, fennel & orange. Unfortunately I only ate the orange from this, as I can’t say this was that appetising to myself, but I am quite a fussy eater & always have been. Adam had a slow cooked hens egg with Jerusalem artichoke, morteau & chive oil, which he rather enjoyed.
For the main event, I had what was my favourite plate of our lovely dinner, roasted brassicas (cauliflower & broccoli), spiced lentils with golden sultanas & a fruity curry sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed this, anything with cauliflower & curry in, I absolutely adore. For Adams main course, he had a plate of an aged fillet of beef, with truffle mash, roscoff onion and morel madeira sauce, which he also thoroughly enjoyed & would of loved more of.
Next was a savoury treat which was a lovely vegan camenbert cheese with cracker, carrot salad & truffle honey, whilst Adam was served the same with ashlynn goats cheese. A lovely accompaniment to our main course.
Last but not least, I was served a delightful sweet dessert of English raspberries, pearl barley, cherry vinegar & vanilla vegan ice cream. Whilst Adam was served a lovely warm molten chocolate tart with malt ice cream & hazelnut praline.
Overall the entire dinning experience was delightful. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to try all of these tasteful dishes & be served by not only the best, but most well mannered & knowledgable Mallory Court staff remembers. Definitely an evening to remember.
The next morning after finishing our evening in the drawing room by the fire with a bottle of red wine, we were greeted by the lovely staff in the dining room to a beautifully presented menu for breakfast, featuring continental & cooked breakfast options to choose from. They also cater for any dietary requirements you have, including; vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc.
I had a lovely pot of English breakfast tea with soya milk, gluten free toast with jam, a bowl of fruit in orange juice and a vegan breakfast, minus the tomato & mushrooms - told you I was a fussy eater. I’ve tried for ages to make myself like mushrooms, but my taste buds are not agreeing with them unfortunately. I have to say the vegetarian sausages were lovely with the spinach and avocado though. Adam had a lovely French press style coffee with gluten free toast, a selection of jams, with eggs Benedict as a main breakfast.
I absolutely loved eating in the dining room, surrounded by beautiful classical interior and British heritage style breakfast. It was honestly such a treat to be able to experience, I hope to be able to do this more often. I realise how much I love traditional British style country getaways so much. Especially so close to home in the Warwickshire countryside.
Added to our stay, we were treated to access to the lovely spa facilities alongside myself having a wonderfully relaxing Work It Out Massage. I could of happily fell asleep during the 55 minute treatment. The spa uses all Temple Spa products which they actually give you a little leaflet of all the products used during your treatment which I thought was a brilliant idea & I hope more spas will do this so you can then buy the products if you really enjoyed them.
The spa facilities were lovely, tranquil & relaxing. With a indoor pool, loungers, steam room, inside and outside sauna, alongside a lovely outdoor hot tub with views out to the tennis court & gardens. I could of sat there all day with my book if I could. The perfect relaxing space to enjoy a spa getaway. The spa is located in a separate building from the main hotel which has a more modern touch, with a cafe, different treatment rooms, nail salon & mini gym - which is free to use when staying at Mallory Court to let you know.
In conclusion, wow I’ve made this an essay havent I? How could I not mention everything though with how much of a beautiful escape Mallory Court has been for us. The perfect staycation getaway. I will definitely be revisiting Mallory Court again & already have a day planned in April to return for afternoon tea with one of my close friends. Mallory Court also offer wedding packages, conference rooms, parties etc.
